Ireland’s super lightweight champion Katie Taylor (24–1, 6 KOs) and Brooklyn’s unified featherweight champion Amanda Serrano (47–3–1, 31 KOs) top the first all-women’s bill at Madison Square Garden on July 11.
It is the third time they have met in the ring after fights in 2022 and 2024. Taylor will again put her belts on the line for the contest after winning them back from Chantelle Cameron – the only defeat on her record – and then defending them against Serrano last time out.
Serrano hs also not fought since meeting Taylor last year but would have felt she did enough in that contest despite the scorecards going against her. That performance is reflected in the betting market with Serrano made marginal favorite this time around.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Taylor said: “I’m 2-0 against Amanda, but it’s obviously a very special rivalry that delivers every time we step in the ring, so I think it’s only right that we have the trilogy. The atmosphere for the first fight there was amazing, and I’m sure it won’t be any different this time around.”
The contest will also reach millions after it was announced that Netflix would be showing the event live, as they did with the previous clash on the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson bout in November 2024.
