WinnersBet is a very simple betting site that lacks the modern features that are considered standard nowadays. Their racing offer is decent, but when it comes to sports betting, WinnersBet is way behind their competitors. On top of that, they don't even offer native apps for iOS or Android. As a result of all these drawbacks, we can't recommend Winnersbet to our readers in good faith. Instead, try visiting some of the more established betting sites, such as bet365.

WinnersBet is one of the newest additions to the Aussie betting market. However, they haven’t lived up to our expectations. This bookie has a very slim sports betting offering and no native apps. The Winnersbet site looks poorly designed and it lacks many advanced features.

Because of all this, I strongly suggest you take a look at some more advanced betting sites. Bet365 is currently the best bookmakers in Australia, with a remarkable selection of market and excellent live streaming platform. Take a look at our expert review of bet365 to learn more.

WinnersBet Pros
  • Simple to use website
  • Pages are quick to load
WinnersBet Cons
  • No live streaming
  • No native apps
  • No live betting
  • Not so many sports betting markets
  • Weak selection of payment methods

WinnersBet Overview

winnersbet home page

A well-known Australian bookmaker Da He launched WinnersBet in June of 2020. They started getting traction almost immediately mainly because their founder has extensive experience in the betting industry with household brands such as Sportsbet, bet365 and ClassicBet.

This online bookmaker is 100% Aussie, meaning that they legally operate under Australian law. Mister He is also a member of the Victorian Bookmakers Association, so you can be sure that everything about WinnersBet is by the books!

The main focus of WinnersBet is horse racing. They offer a solid coverage of both local and international events. Here you can find all the most popular markets, as well as some online betting promotions, but you’ll first have to register for that. However, their offer is still far from what the likes of bet365 have in place. If you anything else but a complete beginner, we would highly recommend joining some bigger bookie.

WinnersBet also covers a decent range of sports. However, I noticed that they usually have fewer markets than some of their top competitors. But since WinnersBet is still a new betting site, I’m sure they’ll be adding new sports markets and fill up those gaps.

WinnersBet Horse Racing

winnersbet racing offer

Horse racing wagering is what WinnersBet does best. Here you can bet on almost any Australian and NZ race there is. On top of that, they offer a solid range of international events from the UK, US and even South Correa. WinnersBet also provides solid form guides, which I highly recommend to both new and experienced punters.

The selection of racing markets is also decent. They offer all the standard bets, like win/place, quinella, exacta, trifecta, first four and quaddie. The racing enthusiast will be pleased to know that tote betting is also on the table. They do lack advanced markets for some less important races, so be very careful when betting with Winnersbet.

WinnersBet Sports Betting

winnersbet sports offer

WinnersBet’s sports offering isn’t great. They cover only 11 sports, which is way below the market average. You can bet on all the most popular leagues, such as NRL, AFL, NBA, EPL and so on. However, they lack most of the niche sports. For example, at the time of writing, WinnersBet wasn’t offering eSports betting.

However, the biggest drawback here is the lack of sports betting markets. The market-leading bookies, like bet365 or Unibet, usually have tens or even hundreds of markets on popular rugby or soccer matches. WinnersBet, on the other hand, offers just a handful of options. That may be good enough for beginners or casual punters, but I doubt that more experienced bettors would be pleased with the offer this thin.

Live Streaming and Live Betting Aren’t Available

At the time of writing, WinnersBet wasn’t offering live streaming and live betting. Those are advanced features you won’t find at almost any smaller betting site. If you want to watch and bet live, we suggest visiting some of the more established bookmakers.

Bet365 has the best live offer in Australia. You can stream numerous sports or racing events and place bets at the same time. Unibet is also a solid option, especially if you prefer to watch and bet on a mobile device.

Odds Comparison

WinnersBet didn’t perform great on the odds comparison test. I have put them against Unibet and Palmerbet, which are among the best racing betting sites in Australia. WinnersBet finished last on our test, which just cements what we already mentioned above – they still fall far behind bet365 and Unibet!

Mobile Apps

winnersbet mobile app

WinnersBet currently doesn’t offer native mobile apps for iOS or Android. However, you can still enjoy all the desktop site’s functionalities when betting on their web-based app.

There is no need to download anything when betting on mobile at WinnersBet. Just use your device’s browser to open their site, log in with your account and continue betting as usual.

The WinnersBet mobile website is quick and very user-friendly. I especially liked how they organised the home page. As soon as you enter the site, you’ll see the list of upcoming races. You can easily switch tabs to show sports events, or use the bottom menu to visit the dedicated ‘Racing’ or ‘Sports’ pages. Since the mobile site is so neatly organised, I usually don’t even have to leave the home page to find and place bets.

Even though the mobile website looks ok, not having native apps is a major issue. We simply can’t recommend a bookmaker which in this day and age doesn’t have dedicated betting apps. We highly suggest every mobile punter join one of the other top bookies we recommend here.

WinnersBet Payment Methods

WinnersBet offers only a basic selection of betting payment methods, which includes POLi, credit/debit cards and bank transfer. This is way worse than any of their top competitors have available, so in case you want to bet with PayPal or some other popular option, we suggest you move to another site.

The only way to get your winnings back is via bank transfer. You’ll usually have to wait for about 2 or 3 working days for your money to arrive, which is way to long. Also, keep in mind that you must verify your account before any withdrawal request can be processed.

Customer Support isn’t Available 24/7

The first thing I look for when testing any bookie’s customer support is live chat. Luckily, WinnersBet offers live chat support to both desktop and mobile users. The live chat icon is always available in the bottom left corner of the screen. Just tap it, and a friendly support agent will be there to help you.

The biggest drawback is that agents aren’t available 24/7. They don’t state the exact working hours, but I couldn’t reach them at night. However, if you contact them during the day, agents usually respond within a few minutes.

There is also an option to send them an email. But in that case, you can expect a reply in around 24 hours, which is still great for email support.

The WinnersBet FAQs section is not that useful. There are only around 10 questions answered, so I doubt you’ll be able to always find your answers. Each time I had second thoughts, I instantly opened the live chat and asked support agents for help.

Is WinnersBet Safe?

WinnersBet may be a newcomer to the Aussie market, but I haven’t found a single safety issue when betting with them.

All bets are accepted on behalf of their founder, De Ha, trading as WinnersBet. He is a member of the Victorian Bookmakers Association, which is important because it guarantees payments of all winning bets placed with their members.

WinnersBet is a 100% Australian bookie based in Melbourne. They hold a Victoria betting license, which means that they are completely safe and reliable. On top of that, I found all the expected safety features installed on WinnersBet, such as SSL encryption.

WinnersBet also offers a few of the usually responsible gambling features. If you think you’re experiencing any gambling issues, feel free to contact some of the responsible gambling agencies listed on WinnersBet’s site. Additionally, you can temporarily or permanently self-exclude yourself from visiting any betting site.

Is WinnersBet User-Friendly?

WinnersBet offers a straightforward online sportsbook that even complete beginners can use with ease. However, that’s mainly because they don’t offer almost any special features you can find at their competitor’s sites. On top of that, the design looks very outdated and the purple background can be very hard on the eyes after looking at it for more than a few minutes.

You can access your account settings by clicking the button in the top right corner. I especially like how they show you the full history of your transactions, withdrawals and deposits on the ‘My Account’ page. It gives me a better awareness of all wins and losses and helps me make better betting decisions.

The ‘Racing’ page is always available from the top menu. Navigation is straightforward, and you can easily switch between dates or race types. However, I would like them to split international races by country since it can be hard to find what you want when they are all listed together.

I also liked how they organised the ‘Sports’ page. It’s visually stunning, and everything is easy to find. They list the upcoming events on the top of the page, so you can place a quick bet with just a few clicks. Dedicated sports pages are listed in the left sidebar, or in the main menu when betting on mobile.

Where Does WinnersBet Need to Improve

The more seasoned bettors would appreciate it if they would add a few more advanced betting features, such as a bet builder, or an option to request a bet.

But the biggest downside here is the lack of live betting or live streaming. These features are usually available only at more established betting sites, such as bet365 or Unibet, so I wasn’t surprised that WinnersBet still doesn’t have them on offer. If this bookie wants to be recognised as one of the best on the market, having a solid live betting platform is a must.

Conclusion

WinnersBet is a simple betting site without any special betting features, such as live streaming or live betting. They don’t even offer native apps for iOS or Android, which means that mobile punters will have to use their clunky mobile site.

But the biggest drawback is the complete lack of sports betting markets. WinnersBet offers only a handful of bets that probably won’t be enough to satisfy even complete beginners. Because of all this, I’m sure that you’ll be much better off with some other betting site, such as bet365.
