Payment Methods
Based on deposits and withdrawals
Elitebet offers a very short list of payment methods that include only credit/debit cards and bank EFT. They don't offer any of the popular options, like PayPal or POLi. It also takes a long time to withdraw your winnings, so expect to wait at least 2 or 3 days to get your money back.

Sports & Features
Overall sports and features provided
Elitebet sports betting offer is pretty slim, with only around 15 sports available, which is way less than what their competitors have. For example, both bet365 and Unibet offer over 35 sports. They also offer very few markets, even on popular sports like NRL or AFL. The racing betting offer at Elitebet is a bit better, but it's still not nearly as good as at other top Australian betting sites.

Overall Security Rating
Elitebet is a licensed betting site, so you can be sure that they're safe to use. We feature only licensed betting sites on AussieBet since gambling with offshore operators can be very dangerous.
Overall Customer Support Rating
Elitebet offers solid email and phone customer support, but the lack of live chat is a huge drawback. You can still pick up your phone and give them a call if you need instant help, however, most punters nowadays prefer the convenience of a live chat. Every serious bookie has it, so there are no excuses for not having live chat support.
Overall website impressions
Elitebet has a very outdated-looking betting site. The design feels like it's from the early 2000s, so it probably won't appeal to many customers. On the positive side, the site is very straightforward to use. We would still like to see some innovative features from Elitebet since it seems that they're falling behind their top competitors.

Elitebet is solid in some areas, but the overall impression isn't that great. They don't have nearly as comprehensive a betting offering as bookmakers like bet365 or Palmerbet. On top of that, their site looks very dated and unattractive. Because of all this, I firmly believe that you'll be much better off with some other bookmaker.
Nikola Jekic Content Manager

Elitebet is a 100% Australian bookmaker that has been around for a while. However, they still haven’t managed to build a comprehensive betting platform. You’ll find nothing more than a basic set of markets and odds. Plus, Elitebet’s site looks like it was made in the early 2000s’.

We researched all the possible alternatives and found out that bet365 is the best option. Here are the reasons why we believe that the bet365 is a much better option for Aussie punters:

  • Excellent mobile apps for iOS and Android
  • Great live streaming coverage (IPL, racing, ATP, MLB)
  • Wide selection of payment options including PayPal
  • More then 35 sports to bet on
  • Market-leading live betting platform
  • Many betting promotions for sports and racing
  • Mobile app has poor design and takes a lot of time to load
  • No live streaming
  • You can deposit only with cards or bank EFT (no Paypal or POLi)
  • Only around 15 sports available (3 times less then bet365)
  • Weak racing betting offering

If you’re still not convinced that bet365 is a superior option, you can learn more about them by reading our comprehensive bet365 review, where we cover everything there is to know about this bookie. Elitebet Australia Overview

Elitebet has been around for quite some time. David Dwyer launched the company in 2013. Before Elitebet, he was known as one of the largest on-course Rails bookmakers in Sydney and the President of the NSW Bookmakers Co-operative.

This bookmaker may not be the biggest and brightest on the market, but they have everything an average Aussie punter would want. Their horse racing coverage is good enough. They have a full range of domestic events, as well as a nice portion of international races. Elitebet isn’t as good as Unibet and bet365, but they should be good enough for complete beginners.

The selection of sports is barely decent. You’ll find all of the most popular Australian leagues and tournaments, including AFL, NRL, cricket and so on. More experienced bettors will be glad to hear that Elite bet also offers a few niche sports, like table tennis, darts and cycling. However, these usually have very poor coverage. If you want to bet on more niche sports, we suggest using some of the better-equipped Australian online bookies.

elitebet homepage

The thing I hated the most about Elitebet Australia was its website. It doesn’t look too flashy, but it’s very fast! The structure is also very simple because there aren’t any advanced betting features or many flashy free bet offers, so I was able to find my way around very quickly.

Since the site is so simple and the betting offer isn’t too overwhelming, I believe that Elitebet would be a good choice only for beginners and casual bettors. However, advanced users may find the lack of features like live streaming and live chat to be problematic.

Elitebet Horse Racing

elitebet horse racing

Since the founder of Elitebet is known as one of the top Australian horse racing bookmakers, I wasn’t surprised to see that their racing offer is solid. They cover all the domestic races, in addition to the events from around the world. Elitebet’s international offering is good enough, but they still don’t come even close to what Unibet and bet365 have in place.

As soon as you enter the site, you’ll see the list of upcoming races on the homepage. You can also see the events scheduled for the upcoming days on the same page. To browse the full offer, click on the ‘Racing’ button in the top menu.

Here you’ll find all of the most popular racing bets. Elitebet Australia has all the usual, so it’s safe to say that most punters will be pleased with what is on offer. They have tote, exotics, fluc, win/place and even a few special racing betting features.

For example, Elitebet offers the best of the best odds for all horse owners. Also, if you lose because of a protest decision on any Australian race, they’ll pay you as if you’re a winner. These are all the small things that made Elitebet stand out, so I hope they’ll add even more similar benefits in the future.

This is the list of horse racing bets available at Elitebet Australia:

  • Best of 3 Tote
  • Best of 2 Tote
  • Win & Place Tote +5%

Horse Racing Odds Comparison

As you can see from the table below, the difference between these 3 is minor. Elitebet came last in this test, behind both Unibet and Palmerbet by a close margin. However, we suggest you do a test like this before every bet because odds are constantly changing.

Sports Betting with Elitebet

elitebet sports betting

Elitebet has a weak sports betting offer. Having around 17 sports is nothing that will blow your mind, but it should be enough for most casual punters. The most important thing is that all of the popular sports are there. You’ll find cricket, Rugby Union, Rugby League, and soccer, as well as all of the US leagues, like NBA, NRL and NHL.

I like the fact that there are also several niche sports available. But if you are seriously into betting on exotic leagues and tournaments, you’ll probably be better off with some of the big international bookmakers, like Unibet and bet365.

My biggest complaint here is the lack of sports betting markets. They do cover all of the basic ones, but I would like to see a bit more depth, especially for the most popular sports. For example, at the time of writing this review, Elitebet Australia had less than 20 markets for AFL matches. On the other hand, Unibet was offering over 350 bets for the same matches. Lots of regular customers don’t care about the advanced markets, but still, a bit more depth would make Elitebet a lot better.

Sports Betting Odds Comparison

All of the bookmakers I tested below are having more or less the same odds on AFL. However, Elitebet finished last once again, which shows that they still aren’t a match for other top Australian bookies.

Elitebet Apps

elitebet app

The Elitebet app doesn’t bring anything new or exciting, but it has one advantage – everything is as straightforward as possible. In most cases, I don’t even have to leave the homepage. When you open the app, you’ll see two tabs, one for racing and one for sports. Upcoming events are listed in each tab, with an option to quickly switch between thoroughbred, harness and greyhounds, or in the other case different sports.

You can go to the main sports or racing pages by clicking the buttons in the menu below. But as I said, most of the time, I finished everything on the start page. In case you want to check your account setting or contact customer support, head out to the main menu at the top.

Native apps are available for both iOS and Android. I have tested both of them, and as far as I can tell, some pages load very slowly. On the other hand, the apps have a very similar structure as the desktop site, meaning that switching to mobile should be seamless.

Live Betting – Decent Offer

Elitebet offers a decent live betting section. Everything works perfectly from the user-experience standpoint, but the selection of sports and markets could be better. You can bet in-play on popular sports and leagues, which should be enough for most people.

The number of in-play bets is just far from being the best on the market, so hardcore live betting fans should definitely look elsewhere. All others will be fine.

Keep in mind that due to the Interactive Gambling Act, bookmakers aren’t allowed to accept in-play bets over the internet. That’s why you’ll have to give Elitebet a call to proceed with your live wager. Just find the live market you want to bet, pick up the phone and state your bet. Simple and easy!

Live Streaming – Not Provided

At the time of writing this review, Elitebet doesn’t offer live streaming over their website. This doesn’t come as a big surprise, since live streaming is a high-end feature that usually only the big betting brands can afford.

If you’re as big a fan of in-play betting as I am, then live streaming is an absolute must. I definitely recommend taking a look at bet365 instead. There you can watch live games and races in HD, all from your smartphone, tablet or computer. We made an in-depth review of bet365, so give it a look in case you want to learn more about this bookmaker.

Banking Methods – Short Selection

There aren’t many banking options available at Elitebet Australia. I usually deposit via credit/debit cards, but you can also use EFT or deposit cash at any branch of National Australia Bank. Note that you can’t deposit with PayPal or POLi.

This is a very short list of banking methods, so I hope Elitebet will introduce new options anytime soon. It would be great if at least one e-wallet, like PayPal or Skrill, was available. The selection they have now won’t satisfy even complete beginners, let alone more experienced punters.

Note that you can only withdraw your winnings via credit/debit cards or EFT. Elitebet is also eager to send you a cheque to your registered postal address, which I doubt anybody actually uses nowadays.

Don’t forget to verify your account in time. They’ll ask you to confirm your identity before requesting the first withdrawal or within your first 30 days after registering an account.

  • Deposit methods: Credit/Debit Cards, Bank EFT and Cash
  • Withdrawal methods: Credit/Debit Cards, Bank EFT and Cheques

Customer Support – No Live Chat

Elitebet customer support is friendly and helpful, but the biggest impression was the lack of live chat support. You can reach out to them via phone of email, but not having a live chat just feels so outdated.

So far, I have only nice things to say about Elitebet’s support agents. This bookmaker proudly points out that they try to provide a memorable experience for every punter.

I love how Elitebet lists the names of its employees who work with customers. It gives me the feeling like I’m betting with a small, family-owned bookmaker that sincerely cares about its customers. If you find yourself in a problem, send an email or pick up the phone. Daniel, David, Jeff, Nick and Matt will be there to help you! The only problem here is the lack of live chat. That’s, by far, my favourite way to contact customer support, so I hope they’ll add it anytime soon.

Is Elitebet Safe?

Yes, Elitebet is a very safe online bookmaker. They hold a NSW betting license, which means that this operator has fulfilled all of the highest security and fairness requirements. Both Elitebet and its founder David Dwyer have a great track record. They are reliable bookmakers I fully trust.

One more important thing to mention is that Elitebet features all of the usual tools that can help you gamble responsibly. It includes Deposit LimitsSelf-Exclusion and so on. These tools can be very handy, so don’t hesitate to use them when needed. You’ll also find the number of Gambling Help Online in the footer or every page. In case you or someone you know are experiencing gambling problems, feel free to give them a call.

Final Verdict – Great for Casual Bettors

Elitebet is a solid bookmaker. However, you can tell from the betting offer that they are one of the smaller operators. They don’t have a flashy site or an array of special features, such as live streaming.

The selection of sports markets isn’t good enough for experienced punters. However, casual bettors could be just fine. If you are searching for anything more than just a basic site where you can place a sports or racing bet, I suggest you look elsewhere.
