Ball vs Doheny Betting Preview
Nick Ball (21-0-1 – 12 KOs) will defend his WBO world featherweight crown against former world champion TJ Dohney (26-5 – 20 KOs) in Liverpool.
Ball bagged world honours when defeating Raymond Ford by split decision in Saudia Arabia last year. He then defended his title with a TKO victory over Ronny Rios.
He now looks to defend against New South Wales southpaw Doheny, who was last seen when challenging pound-for-pound great Naoya Inoue at super bantamweight. He lost by seventh-round KO that day and now moves up in weight.
Ball is keen to fight Inoue himself and will want to get the job even quicker to make a statement that could open the door to that clash in the future.
This looks like another tough task for Doheny, who had built himself towards the Inoue title challenge thanks to a host of successes in Japan.
