Written by Chris Flavell Last time updated 12/12/2024

YouTube star Jake Paul and former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson are set to clash in an enthralling boxing match that is sure to capture the imagination. The best Australian bookmakers are offering odds and we now take a deeper look into the match-up.

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Odds

Jake Paul has been made the favourite for this match-up by most of the best boxing betting sites. That said, it always pays to take time to compare the odds.

Much of the short price will be down to Paul’s youth and the fact that Tyson will be 58 when he steps in the ring in Texas for this contest. Take a look at how some of our recommended bookies differ in their prices for this one.

It is Unibet that has the higher odds on a Paul victory but bet365 is the place to go if you think Tyson will come out on top.

Paul vs Tyson Betting Preview

Mike Tyson is set to fight Jake Paul in a much-anticipated bout between the former world heavyweight champion and the YouTube star.

Paul has mainly fought former MMA and UFC stars in his boxing career and suffered his only loss when Tommy Fury secured a points win against him last year.

However, Paul is 30 years younger than ‘Iron’ Mike and that could be the biggest factor in this contest and a points win or late stoppage for Paul could be possible. That said, if Tyson does retain his old power then this could prove key in a fight the former champ will surely look to end early as his best hope after nearly 20 years out of the professional ring.

He retired in 2005 after successive defeats against Danny Williams and Kevin McBride. Jake Paul, on the other hand, was last seen finding the stoppage against Mike Perry just three months ago. That was his fourth win since his only loss to Tommy Fury.

The bookies initially had Paul as a clear favorite to take the win in this fight but those odds came much closer together as soon as fight week landed. Paul is still the outright favourite but the gap in odds isn’t as big as it was and continues to shorten all the time across all bookies.

Weigh-in Results

Jake Paul weighed in at 227 pounds for the contest at the final weigh-in event before fight night. Tyson came in slightly heavier at 228.4 pounds.

There was drama at the last weigh-in event in Texas as Tyson slapped Paul during the final face-off after both men had weighed in. Paul is the taller man but this isn’t something Tyson isn’t used to after regularly fighting taller men during his illustrious pro career. Tyson is the heavier of the two and everything is pointing towards the older man looking for the early stoppage.

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Predictions and Tips

There are so many different factors to consider when looking to spot a value bet on this fight. The difference in age, the difference in boxing experience, the punching power of former great Tyson, the greater fitness of Jake Paul. Tyson will be at his most dangerous in the opening few rounds and backing him to find a KO punch in rounds 1-4 is the fun bet but certainly offers some value too.

Jake Paul is the short-priced favourite to secure victory over Mike Tyson but has only really been in with experienced MMA fighters. The difference fitness levels between the pair suggests the longer this goes the more chance Jake Paul has of either a points win or wearing down Tyson. However, Tyson should still be able to hit hard enough to trouble the YouTube star and has a natural power that Paul will never have experienced before. Stopping this early could be Tyson’s main hope of coming out on top and is an appealing price.
