World Cup 2026 Stadiums: All Stadiums for the 2026 World Cup
The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off on June 11, 2026, as the tournament is shared between three host countries (USA, Canada, and Mexico) for the first time. In total, the matches will be divided between 16 stadiums in the three countries. The USA is in the lead with a total of 11 stadiums, and here we give you an overview of each of them.
During the World Cup, many of the stadiums will have temporary name changes (to comply with FIFA’s guidelines prohibiting commercial names during the tournament), but we will use the actual names as a starting point.

United States
MetLife Stadium

- Capacity: 82,500
- Location: East Rutherford, New Jersey
- Home field: New York Giants & New York Jets (NFL)
The largest stadium in the United States (second largest overall) is Metlife Stadium. Normally, NFL clubs New York Giants & New York Jets share the playing time here. The arena has previously hosted Super Bowl XLVIII, as well as the Copa America final in 2016. It is known for its fantastic atmosphere and will host the World Cup final on July 19, 2026, in addition to five group stage matches and one match in the Last 16 and quarter-final, respectively.
AT&T Stadium

- Capacity: 80,000
- Location: Arlington, Texas
- Home field: Dallas Cowboys (NFL)
Also known as “Jerry World”, this stadium boasts one of the world’s largest screens hanging over the pitch. It is 55 meters long and 22 meters high. During the World Cup, it will likely be used for replays, match information, VAR decisions and graphics for spectators.
The arena is often used for major sporting events, including the Super Bowl and College Football Playoffs. A total of five games in the group stage, as well as three games in the playoffs, will be played at this stadium.
Arrowhead Stadium

- Capacity: 76,416
- Location: Kansas City, Missouri
- Home field: Kansas City Chiefs (NFL)
The Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas is known for creating huge pressure during home games of the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL. There is the potential for impressive atmospheres to follow suit during the World Cup, and some unforgettable moments can be created at this stadium.
A total of six World Cup matches will be played here: 4 group stage matches, a round of the final 16, and a quarter-final.
NRG Stadium

- Capacity: 72,220
- Location: Houston, Texas
- Home field: Houston Texans (NFL)
One of the few stadiums in the United States with a fully retractable roof, making it highly flexible and giving it an advantage against extreme weather. It is also effective against high temperatures as it has integrated cooling and temperature control.
A total of seven matches will be played at this stadium during the World Cup, including one of the round of 16 matches.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium

- Location: Atlanta, Georgia
- Home ground: Atlanta Falcons (NFL) & Atlanta United (MLS)
This stadium is known for its unique and rotating roof that can be opened/closed in a matter of minutes. Like AT&T Stadium, this arena also boasts one of the world’s largest screens – a screen that is integrated into the roof structure and gives spectators an extra experience and overview.
A total of eight matches will be played on this pitch, including one of the semi-finals and five group stage matches.
Sofi Stadium

- Capacity: 70,240
- Location: Los Angeles, California
- Home field: Los Angeles Rams & Los Angeles Charges (NFL)
Sofi Stadium opened in 2020 as one of the most modern and advanced stadiums in the world. With its transparent roof structure and 360-degree video screen, it is unique.
This arena will be given the honorable task of hosting the United States’ opening match at the World Cup. In addition, several group stage matches will be played here, as well as three in the playoffs – including one of the quarter-finals.
Lincoln Financial Field

- Capacity: 67,594
- Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Home field: Philadelphia Eagles (NFL)
The home stadium of the Philadelphia Eagles has previously been used for international matches and major football events. Now it is part of the World Cup arenas where a total of six matches will be played (five in the group stage, as well as a quarter-final).
Lumen Field

- Capacity: 69,000
- Location: Seattle, Washington
- Home ground: Seattle Seahawks (NFL) & Seattle Sounders (MLS)
This stadium is known for its incredible pressure and fantastic atmosphere during matches. At least that’s how it’s perceived when the Seattle Sounders play here, and I’m sure it’ll be just as good during the World Cup.
The audience will at least experience a total of six matches here during the World Cup, four in the group stage and two in the playoffs. Not least, the USA’s second group stage match will be played here. If they can recreate some of the pressure they are known for, it could give the USA an extra advantage of playing on home soil.
Levi’s Stadium

- Home field: San Francisco 49ers (NFL)
This stadium is said to be one of the world’s most environmentally friendly with solar panels and a recycled water system. Many will remember that it hosted Super Bowl 50, In the World Cup, a total of six matches will be played on this pitch (first matches in the group stage, as well as a Last 16 contest).
Gillette Stadium

- Capacity: 65,878
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts
- Home ground: New England Patriots (NFL) & New England Revolution (MLS)
Many people are probably familiar with this stadium as it is where Tom Brady has won several of his NFL championships. Gillette Stadium has also hosted major international soccer matches, including the Copa America and the Gold Cup.
This stadium will host a total of seven matches during the World Cup, including one of the quarter-finals.
Hard Rock Stadium

- Capacity: 64,767
- Location: Miami, Florida
- Home field: Miami Dolphins (NFL)
The Copa America final was played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in 2024, but otherwise, it is primarily American football and baseball that are played there.
It is also at Hard Rock Stadium that 8 matches will be played at FIFA’s new Club World Cup.
Mexico
Azteca Stadium

- Capacity: 83,000
- Location: Mexico City
- Home ground: Club America & Mexico’s national team
An iconic arena that will be the first in history to host three different World Cups (1970, 1986 and 2026). Both the opening match and the World Cup final were played at this stadium in both 1970 and 1986.

The World Cup’s largest and most iconic football stadium will be given the honor of hosting the opening match of the World Cup on June 11, 2026. A total of three group stage matches and two playoff matches will be played here (Last 16 and quarter-finals).
Estadio Monterrey

- Capacity: 53,500
- Location: Monterrey, Nuevo Leon
- Home ground: CF Monterrey
One of the smaller-capacity stadiums in the World Cup. However, it will provide a special experience with its magestic view of the mountains surrounding Monterrey. A total of four World Cup matches will be held on this pitch. Three matches in the group stage, as well as a Last 16 clash.
Estadio Akron

- Capacity: 49,850
- Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco
- Home ground: Chivas Guadalajara
This stadium also hosted the 1970 and 1986 World Cups and will once again play a significant role in a World Cup.
A total of four matches will be played on this iconic pitch. These are four matches from the group stage, not least Mexico’s second match of the championship.
Canada
BC Place

- Capacity: 54,500
- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia
- Home ground: Vancouver Whitecaps (MLS)
This iconic arena hosted the Women’s World Cup final in 2015. Not as large a capacity as stadiums in the United States, but close to 55,000 can still create a magical atmosphere.
They will at least have the honor of having seven World Cup matches played here, including two of Canada’s group stage matches, as well as two playoff matches.
BMO Field

- Capacity: 45,500
- Location: Toronto, Ontario
- Home ground: Toronto FC (MLS)
This is the “smallest” stadium at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, at least in terms of capacity. However, it is also known for being very intimate and for creating an electric atmosphere when Toronto FC plays its home games there, making it an exciting addition to the other, more impressive stadium facilities at the World Cup.
A total of six matches will be played at this stadium. The first-ever World Cup match on Canadian soil, and of course, with their own national team in action. They will also have a playoff match in addition to the five group stage matches.
