Outright winner odds are available with Australia’s best bookies. We looked at how bet365, Unibet and Palmerbet all compared in this popular futures market.
India are the favourites the lift the trophy this year, closely followed by England and Australia. South Africa, Pakistan and New Zealand will be looking to make an impact, too.
It is always important to back a selection at the best price you can get. For example, as you can see below, you’d be better off backing Australia with bet365 compared to Unibet or Palmerbet. However, those other bookies would be better options if you were backing other sides.
These odds will change as the tournament progresses, but this is how it stands before the action gets underway.

Winner Bet: South Africa to Lift T20 World Cup
South Africa have the right balance to go far in the 2024 T20 World Cup and look the value selection to take the title in the tournament held in the US and West Windies. The addition of exciting young opener Ryan Rickelton alongside the experience of Quinton de Kock can lay the foundations for the middle-order power of Heinrich Klaasen and Tristan Stubbs to shine. The return of Anrich Nortje brings really pace to the bowling attack that includes in-form IPL performers Kagiso Rabada and Gerald Coetzee. Backing them at $7.50 with bet365 looks a great bet.

Top Bowler: Consider Pathirana, Bumrah and Shaheen
Most wickets are taken during the group stages of the tournament so considering each group’s strength is a good pointer towards this. There should be plenty of wickets to be had for both India and Pakistan in Group A, which is why we think Jasprit Bumrah ($8.00 with Unibet) and Shaheen Afridi ($21.00 with bet365) are good picks in the market. A third choice is Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana as long as he is fully fit after an impressive but short-lived IPL season. He is priced at $34.00 with Unibet and can be an each-way bet along with Shaheen.

Top Batter: Jaiswal and Head to Score Big
Yashasvi Jaiswal carried his India Test form into the IPL this season and can continue to show his love for all formats when he opens for India this World Cup. Much live the wicket-taker markets, there will be runs to be had during the group phases and with India facing USA, Canada, Ireland, as well as Pakistan, then it would be no surprise to see Jaiswal chalk up early runs. He is priced at $15.00 with Unibet and could be an each-way bet. A second option is Australian Travis Head. He performed brilliantly for SRH in the IPL, coming fourth in the orange cap standings. He is $12.00 with bet365 to be the tournament’s top runscorer.

T20 World Cup 2024 Betting Preview
India are understandably the outright favourites to lift another T20 World Cup trophy given their strength in depth in this format. Virat Kohli is in fine form in the IPL and a return to fitness for both Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah hand them a timely boost. However, the inconsistent showings of skipper Rohit Sharma and fellow Mumbai Indians player Suryakumar Yadav will be of concern. Finding the right starting XI will be key to their success.
India are closely followed in the T20 World Cup betting markets by England, who will be hoping Jos Buttler, Phil Salt and Will Jacks can carry their IPL form into the tournament. Liam Livingstone and Harry Brook hand them even more middle-order firepower. A return for Jofra Archer to their bowling attack could see them go far.
Australia will be led by Mitch Marsh as their experienced squad looks for a second T20 title. Travis Head and Marcus Stoinis have been in fine form in the IPL, while David Warner, Cam Green and Glenn Maxwell add to a strong group. Jake Fraser-McGurk misses out and much will come down to whether the old campaigners can still have the same impact this time around.
Expect South Africa to go deep into the tournament given their well-balanced squad and emerging talent as mentioned in our outright betting tip selection. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are capable of causing a few upsets along the way.
