Winner Bet: Australia to Lift T20 World Cup
Australia have a great chance of lifting the T20 world cup in India and look to have a well-rounded squad with plenty of options. Travis Head highlighted his all-format expertise and current form with the bat during Australia’s Ashes success. Expect him and skipper Mitch Marsh to lead from the front. Middle-order power of Marcus Stoinis, Cooper Connolly, and Glenn Maxwell offer them real game changing and finishing options. In Xavier Bartlett, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood and Adam Zampa they have more experience to carry them far in the competition.
Most runs will be scored in the group phase of the tournament and England and opener Jos Buttler have Scotland, Italy, Nepal, and West Indies to compete with. Buttler has done okay in England’s warm-up matches in Sri Lanka and looks a value price to be tournament top runscorer and could even be backed each-way with bet365 paying top four places at 1/4 odds.
Varun Chakravarthy will relish home conditions and is the current number one men’s T20 bowler on ICC rankings. He enjoyed an impressive IPL in 2025 and is a wicket-taking spinner that the opposition may feel the need to take on if Bumrah and Arshdeep have built pressure in the powerplay.
India are understandably the outright favourites to lift another T20 World Cup trophy given their strength in depth in this format. Finding the right starting XI will be key to their success.
Australia will be led by Mitch Marsh as their experienced squad looks for a second T20 title. Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis add proven firepower, while new arrival Cooper Connolly could have a breakout tournament on the international stage.
They are closely followed in the T20 World Cup betting markets by England, who will be hoping Jos Buttler, Phil Salt and Harry Brook can impress with the bat. Much could come down to Jofra Archer’s fitness in the bowling attack but Josh Tongue could prove a shrewd addition to this squad after impressing in last season’s Hundred. Adil Rashid is sure to take wickets in favourable conditions.
Expect South Africa to go deep into the tournament given their well-balanced squad and emerging talent. Leaving out Tristan Stubbs is a huge call but they will be hoping Dewald Brevis and David Miller and offer enough in the middle order along with all-round contributions from Marco Jansen and Donovan Ferreira. Pakistan and New Zealand are capable of causing a few upsets along the way.
