The southpaw was last seen putting in a dominant five-round display against Jonathan Navarro at a catchweight. He can now catapult himself towards a welterweight world title tilt if he gets past unbeaten Frenchman David Papot (30-0 – 5 KOs).
Victory in this IBF eliminator would see him in contention for the winner of Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan II, where the victor will land the full IBF world welterweight crown.
Papot has fought all but one of his bouts in France. The last of those saw him secure the IBF International welterweight belt with a rare KO success against then-unbeaten Canadian Josh Wagner.
