Boxing Betting Preview

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will do battle to be crowned the undisputed world heavyweight champion when they meet in Saudi Arabia for their rescheduled bout. Jai Opetaia features in the undercard as he looks to defeat Mairis Briedis in their long-awaited rematch.

Let us talk you through all the main events and possible betting opportunities. We have highlighted our bet bets at the top of this page but read on for a reminder and a more detailed rundown of each. The best boxing betting sites in Australia will have a wide range of odds for all these fights.

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk

The bill for this event will be topped by Tyson Fury (34-0-1 – 24 KOs) taking on fellow unbeaten heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0 – 14 KOs).

The bookies make Fury the slight favourite heading into this but many will fancy the Ukranian to hand the Gypsy King his first loss. Fury will look to impose his extra size on his smaller opponent and get into range to hurt Usyk much the same way he wore down and got to Deontay Wilder.

Usky will hope his lighter feet and shaper counter shots can disrupt Fury. Usyk heads into this after his KO victory over Daniel Dubois in 2023. Fury will be looking to up his game after a sluggish points success against Francis Ngannou.

Fury to Stop Usyk

The bet for this could be to back Fury to stop Usyk. The Gypsy King could surprise Usyk with just how good his footwork is compared to anyone else he has fought in the heavyweight ranks. That ability could see Fury get within range much easier than others have done before. Fury also have the ability to lean on his opponents and wear them out with his size and strength over 12 rounds.

Jai Opetaia vs Mairis Briedis

Australia’s Opetaia (24-0 – 19 KOs) will look to become a world champion for the second time when he faces former foe Mairis Briedis. Opetaia out-pointed Briedis to win his first world title before being stripped of that belt when choosing to take a fight against Ellis Zorro at the end of 2023 rather than waiting around for Briedi to be fit against follow injury.

Briedis (28-2 – 20 KOs), from Latvia, will head into this fight without seeing any action since Opetaia took his belt back in 2022.

Stoppage in Rounds 1-6 for Opetaia

Backing Opetaia to end this in the first half of the fight looks the value bet here. The lack of action for Briedis could be a real issue against such a sharp operator like Opetaia and his ability to start fast could be the difference. The Australian loves an early finish and backing rounds 1-6 looks good.
