Australia’s Jack Della Maddalena (17-2-0) will challenge defending welterweight champion Bilal Muhammad (24-3-0) in Montreal, Canada at UFC 315 on May 11.
The hard-hitting Australian gets his world title shot after stopping Gilbert Burns when last in action. Muhammad went the distance with Burns previously and now defends the title he stripped from Leon Edwards at UFC 304.
Muhammad was originally set to face undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 before injury forced him out of the bout. An injury to Rakhmonov this time round has seen Maddalena step in.
Maddelena was originally slated to fight Edwards himself in London back in March but dropped out when the title opportunity came along.
